VIJESTI2107

Yesterday, 21st of July, the film Next to me (Pored mene) directed by Stevan Filipović had its world premiere at the 62nd Pula Film Festival in the Arena. This is the first time in Croatia for a foreign film to have its world premiere. The film is competing in the International Programme of the 62nd Pula Film Festival. Before the world premiere of the film, almost the entire cast of the film walked the red carpet and the director Stevan Filipović addressed the audience at the Arena before the screening with these inspired words: "It is an honour that my film premiered on the most beautiful stage in the world! This place, the Arena, Pula, the Festival I feel is mine and part of my heritage!"

The audience in the Arena was truly “breathing” with the film and reacted well on all the scenes from the film, even those on which one would expect to have a little delay. The numerous members of the film crew who arrived on stage after the end of the film were rewarded with a thundering applause and the successful premiere celebration was continued at Sara Renar’s concert. With the film Short Skin directed by Duccio Chiarini, and the slogan: Get up on the crane! the programme Dizalica (crane) was opened. It is a film programme for young people which, for the second year in a row, screens films for young people and those who feel young. Dizalica is located in the courtyard of the Gallery Sacred Hearts, the film programme starts each day at 22:00. More details about the programme can be found HERE.

As part of the Pula PROfesional programme, a round table entitled "Save our past!" about the urgent need for the restoration and digitalisation of over 400 feature films made in Croatia, was held yesterday in the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. According to the data, from a total of about 400 feature films made in Croatia, the film copies of about one hundred were restored and on materials whose shelf life is relatively short. Photos from the round table can be found HERE.

Also, starting at 18:00 at the Valli Cinema, the exhibition of works by the students of the Department of Graphic Design from the School of Applied Arts and Design in Pula was opened. The exhibition was attended by the Director Gordana Restović and the Arts Council member Tanja Miličić. Under the title "Idea, message, concept” the exhibition displays the work of students on the topic of cultural, musical and similar events held in the city of Pula.
