62nd Pula - a creative summer full of movies for children and young people

YOUNG FILMMAKERS’ WORKSHOP, FILM REVIEWS AND EVENT ORGANIZATION

For years Pula Film Festival has been supporting the active involvement of children and young people in various activities by offering them the insight into the processes “behind the scene” and continuously promoting workshops intended for their film education.

This summer the already traditional animated film workshop Professor Balthazar’s Adventure Laboratory will open its door to a new generation of young animated film fans. All youngsters aged 7 to 12 looking for new things, experiments and exciting film ventures are welcome to join the workshop under the supervision of instructors Manuel Šumberac and Vibor Juhas. Premiere of the short animated films produced by the participants will be held on July 24 at the Istrian National Theatre.

Older ones, aged 12 to 16, are now free to apply for Red Workshop for Digital Natives. Application deadline for Participants from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia is June 29, while the international participants will have time until June 22. This creative workshop is developed in cooperation with Dado Valentic, founder of Mytherapy studio, a leading company for digital mastering from UK, and with support of the companies Red Digital Cinema and Adobe. With expertly guidance the workshop participants will write and produce their short film and shoot it using RED DRAGON cameras, edit it in REDucation post production studio and finally watch their work on a big screen.

Film Critics of Young Cinephiles is a professional platform that involves young people aged 18 to 29 in analysing films. Submissions for participation at the 62. Pula Film Festival are open until June 22 and eight best candidates will have the opportunity to watch national and international movies, comment and evaluate them, participate in surveys, discussions and talks as well as to write fil reviews and blogs, all this under the mentorship of the prominent Croatian film critic Nenad Polimac.

Moreover, Pula Film Festival also invites those over 18 to join our enthusiastic team of volunteers dedicated to the realisation of the biggest and most-visited Croatian film Festival. All responsible, enthusiastic and flexible persons that want to gain experience in such an event are free to apply until June 22.
